This project started as a simple test of lettering but turned into a full embroidered nametag. I began with a patterned fabric scrap and stitched my name freehand using dark thread. The goal wasn’t perfection—just something legible and personalized that I could pin onto a shirt.
I added a border in contrasting floss and built up a solid background with colorful satin stitches. This gave the name area more visual weight and helped it stand out from the base fabric. I didn’t use a stabilizer layer, and that worked against me – there is some puckering and warping.
The finished patch was backed with a safety-pin for wear. I need to remake this and make it less noisy
