My First Wearables – Yellow Pajama Pants

These yellow pajama pants were my very first attempt at sewing wearable clothing. I wanted something simple to learn construction basics – two legs, elastic for the waistband. The fabric is a lightweight cotton with just enough drape to keep the shape without feeling stiff.

The pattern was from McCall’s, Style L9558 – Women’s and Men’s Pull-On Pants. I used an elastic waistband and straight-stitched every seam on a basic home machine. The fit turned out better than expected, and the pants are comfortable enough for daily lounging. The only thing missing is pockets.
